MUSIC COMPETITION.
Prima Volta Music Competition is an annual event that accommodates all levels of instrumentalists, vocalists and small chamber ensembles.
This uniquely designed competition caters to all age levels from 3 to 19.
PRIMA VOLTA Music Competition seeks to pave the way for a brighter future for young music students.
The 2024 competition will take place on MAY 4, 2024.
Up to $3,000 cash prizes are awarded to selected winners.
Highly valued comments from our jurors will be provided.

IMPORTANT DATES

Application Deadline: APRIL 14, 2024 for both Live & YouTube participants.

Participants may submit a YouTube Link if unavailable to attend a Live Audition.

YouTube audition participants: You MUST apply with or without the video by the APRIL 14th deadline.

Individual times for live auditions will be notified through email 7 to 10 days prior to the audition dates.

APPLICATION FEES

Non-refundable application fee:
Solo $150

When applying for more than one instrument or category, each requires a separate application form and fee.
REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS
-
Applicants may choose ONE piece from the standard repertoire (baroque, classical, romantic or contemporary) for the audition.

Only ONE movement will be accepted as a piece.

Vocalists may choose ONE song from the following repertoire categories:
Opera aria
Classical repertoire
Folk/Traditional
Broadway/Musical Theatre/Jazz
Pop repertoire is NOT acceptable for the audition.

Participants must bring their own accompanist to both audition and recital.

Bring one original copy of your music.

No arranged music. No repeats should be taken at either audition or recital.

All auditions must be performed from memory with the exception of contemporary pieces (post 1960 - present), chamber music and sonata pieces (except piano sonata).

Time limitation for audition & recital is 6 minutes. Due to time constraints, contestants may be asked to stop at any time during the audition.

Contestants should arrive 15 minutes before your audition time. Please do not be earlier or later than 15 minutes before your audition time due to lack of warm-up space.

Multiple winners will be chosen in each of following age groups. Age 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-19

Applicants will be grouped by their age as of May 4, 2024.

The judges' decisions are final. Judges comments will be emailed.

Certificates will be awarded after the winners’ recitals and
for those who cannot attend the performance may purchase Winner’s Package.

Performance time limit is 6 minutes. There is an extended performance time fee of $100 per minute.

There is NO CHANGING of the piece from the audition to the recital under any circumstances.

Participants at winners' recital will receive Certificate, Medal and Teacher’s Diploma.

Non-participants who cannot attend the performance may request for a Competition Winner’s Package with a non-refundable $90 fee. (For non-US address: additional $40 shipping & handling will be charged) The Package includes Winner’s Certificate & Medal and Teacher’s Diploma. For Ensemble applicants: Additional charge of $20 per each member will apply.
